Reasoning - Chinese Whispers
These activities will support the development of this thinking skill in young students.
1. Developing first thoughts on reasoning:
Why you need courage to apply reason
Whether reason alone can provide us with knowledge
Whether reason or emotion is (and should be) how we understand
2. Students should be able to:
Explain why reason is one of the key ways of producing reliable knowledge
Understand the implications of arriving at instinctive rather than reason-based judgments Have a view on whether superstition is the ‘enemy of reason’?Understand how we often see the truth that we want to, not how it is.
